This book is my personal photographic memoir of Marina, my wife whom I lost to cancer in the summer of 1998. It is also intended to be a tribute to a very special woman who happened to become part of my life when we first met in 1986, lived together for eight years before formally marrying in 1994.



Radiantly attractive and intellectually fearless Marina made an impression on most people who happened to meet her. She took you by surprise with her outspokenness that was a mark of her inspired conversation. But it was her sincerity towards others and deep faith in herself which, combined with her irrepressible humor, made her unforgettable.



Given her personal attractiveness and the passionate nature of her personality, it was no surprise that I found her extremely photogenic and photographed her as part of our life together.



The great desire of Marina was to write. Besides working on her poetry she wrote her personal journal in which she obsessively recorded her struggle to know herself better and to get in touch with her deepest nature. This book combines my photographs of her with excerpts from her writings to give a more complete picture of the unique person that Marina was.
