Photographer and explorer Michele D embarks on a journey into the depths of Egypt’s Red Sea, a voyage filled with breathtaking close encounters. Among massive coral groupers and surgeonfish, schools of Anthias, and creatures of every shape and color, he encounters white-tip and hammerhead sharks. The dives, sometimes nearly impossible due to the intense heat, exude a night-time allure, almost magical in its mystery.
Through “the Blue Door,” the author offers snapshots of underwater life that mesmerize the reader, transporting them into a fantastical world: crimson-red dancers twirling in the night, enchanting onlookers, and whimsical creatures playing their magical flutes in the darkness. It is a tribute to the vibrant life beneath the waves, both day and night, close to the reef and in the deep chasms of the open sea. A brief yet intense hypnotic journey, where getting lost means fully savoring the mysterious and seductive charm of the ocean.

Acerca del creador
Since childhood, the sea has slipped into my dreams like a quiet traveler. That deep pull led me, fifteen years ago, into the world of diving, where I found my home: its silent depths, its shifting geometry, its memory. Today I’m an underwater storyteller. I collect narratives with a camera, exploring oceans and seas in search of what time has surrendered to the depths. A hunter of shipwrecks and a keeper of sunken histories, I’ve moved through places where rust seems to breathe and the past still pulses in a suspended hush. Every photograph is an attempt to reveal the hidden soul of these submerged worlds, caught between drifting light and the shadows that guard what once was. Each dive is an intimate journey for me. A poem traced by rising bubbles, a wordless conversation with a universe far from noise. This book grows out of that dialogue. It’s my offering to anyone who wishes to see what the sea protects, to listen, and to be drawn into its quiet enchantment.
