Beauty in the Mundane is a photo collection representing my belief that no matter where you are, beauty can be found. These photographs capture moments of time in otherwise mundane days; they are not from exotic locations, areas to which access is restricted or special permission is needed to enter. Instead, the scenes capture fleeting moments or slices of life that are so easy to miss – simply because we see them every day and they fade from our consciousness, caught up in the busyness of life.
I want to remind you that there is beauty all around, so I take every opportunity to capture these moments when I come across them. We often forget to appreciate the natural beauty in our lives when sometimes all we need is to change our perspective to see what we have been overlooking. Many photographers provide a narrative to accompany their images. However, I do not want to burden the viewer in a similar manner. The sensations these images evoke within the viewer are just as valid as mine, and are far more personal, thereby imbuing the images with an intimacy that resonates with the individual. My only wish is for you to enjoy the scenes and images, as it is my firm belief that the sum of a viewers personal experiences provides the context in which they will connect with and appreciate any work of art.
