Acerca del libro
In the summer of 2010 I worked as a bear guide in Lake Clark National Park. It was my first job as a guide, and what a way to spend it around bears every day. It was exciting taking guests out to look and photograph bears daily. I learned so much that summer about what guests were looking for in a guide, and learned a ton about bear behavior. Being out every day with the bears and being responsible for guests were both a different, but exciting experience for me. Follow my journey from the beginning to end of the summer as I learn what it takes to be a great guide and the many great bear encounters I had along the way.

I graduated from Carson-Newman College in May 2008, with a BA in Photography. Immediately after graduation I went to Denali National Park to work at a hotel for the summer. On my off days and weekends I hiked through much of the park. It was an incredible experience. The next summer I went to Katmai National Park, in Alaska, and was the tour bus driver to The Valley of Ten Thousand Smokes. Katmai has the largest population of protected brown bears of any national park, and I saw bears every day I was there. Working around these animals was an awesome experience. During the winters I have worked at Beaver Creek ski resort in Colorado. On off days and while skiing I will still enjoy the outdoors and go take pictures. Check out my website, www.bearheadphoto.com, to see my pictures.
