Pierce Morrison Buckman is a United States Senator from Minnesota who is the standard bearer of the progressive left. He is a liberal leader. There aren’t many with the same beliefs to lead.

If he is serious about becoming a candidate for president starting with the Iowa Caucuses, he will have to do it with idealism, positions many consider to be radically liberal and grassroots hand-to-hand politicking. Senator Buckman will need to create an inclusive Pink Revolution of believers in universal health care, defenders of the environment, LBGTQ rights, those skeptical of out-of-control defense and home security spending, gun control advocates and all reformers.

A young staffer of the senator discovers pink is the color of caring, compassion, understanding and love. Pink is the color of giving and receiving care. Pink is the sign of hope.

“Oh, hell yes, our guy, our campaign is pink,’’ proclaims the staffer.

In Pink Revolution by Craig Lynn Cooper, Senator Buckman introduces himself to thousands of Iowans during a national college basketball tournament, at The Iowa Agricultural Exposition, “The Expo,” on Biking With Buckman events and at dozens of traditional Iowa Caucus events at club meetings, service organization luncheons and at small neighborhood gatherings in Iowans’ homes.

He is unfailingly a progressive as he campaigns in Iowa. He is the unlikely candidate who supports universal health care, education reform, a guaranteed living wage, a massive infrastructure project, equitable taxation, a path to pay for college or trade school for all students, and gun control measures. His role in unusual events begins to attract state and national attention.
