This exacting technique consists of cutting, polishing and assembling gem material in elegant designs on the surface of an object, typically a box. Medvedev’s gem intarsia has been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and is collected by gem connoisseurs around the globe. Two of his unique boxes have received first-place awards from the prestigious American Gem Trade Association’s Spectrum Competition.
