His daddy calls him Ribs because he's skinny. Of all the vegetables out there, Ribs especially doesn't like peas. In fact, he refuses to eat them no matter what his parents say. This is a story, written in rhyme, of poor Ribs' refusal to eat his pea. The ending will surprise the reader as much as it did Ribs.
