Born in Upsate, NY, raised in Japan and Ohio, I graduated from The Ohio State University (English Major) before working as a street musician in Europe for 7 years .After returning to the USA, I signed publishing deal with Maverick Music and EMI. Since that time I have earned a living as a troubadour, having recently completed a tour of Russia in the fall of 2019 which is the basis of my first book (Folk Collusion), a collection of poems and essays. I am a student and sometimes teacher of American Folk music, and perform regularly at Woodyfest in Okemah, Oklahoma, birthplace of Woody Guthrie and at Salmonfest in Alaska, where I return each Summer.
