Acerca del libro
Thrilled by the experience, we looked for other waterfalls to visit. We felt fortunate that we lived near the Catskill Region in New York, which according to a fellow photography enthusiast at steves-digicams.com is “a beautiful area to photograph”.
On October 25, 2009, we went to Stony Kill Falls in the Minnewaska Preserve in the eastern part of the Catskills. The photographs you see in this book are taken at Stony Kill Falls, along with those we took on October 24, 2009 at the Ashokan Reservoir and Wittenberg Mountain, also in the Catskills.
After having lived in the outskirts of the Catskills for many years, we are now beginning to enjoy Nature. Bastion Falls became our prelude to nature photography.

Acerca del creador
Virgelio “Billy” Carpio has been photographing New York City since 2009. He uses HDR (high dynamic range) processing, a digital photography technique that balances lighting in high contrast scenes. Combined with slow shutter speeds, HDR eliminates moving objects in a photo – cars, traffic, people – and occasionally leaves a lone individual standing or sitting still against the expansive cityscape. The effect can be surreal. Because whereas the lone individual is in reality engulfed in traffic and commotion, the resulting image is devoid of crowds save for that lone individual in a seemingly Zen-like state. Virgelio hopes that through his photos you will have a unique experience of the skyscraper canyons that is New York City, one in which you can focus on the people that inhabit it, one solitary figure at a time.
