Acerca del libro
Getting behind the wheel of a car and hitting the open road. Taking the interstate to quickly traverse from one point to the next. Sometimes though, it is off the beaten path that we discover USA and her charm, a country vast in terrain, people, and roads. This is a road trip off the beaten path through the Mojave Desert, to the coast, back around to Route 66, and finally out to the Grand Canyon. The roads and course taken highlight the isolation and solitude of the region. Those who choose to live in the desert must learn to survive the terrain. Many people up and leave, abandoning their homes and possessions. The Pacific Coast has these issues as well, but is buried under the layers of beauty and over population. The images highlight the current state, but rely on the past of the country’s time trying to survive in the region.
