Acerca del libro
Eliza Durbin is a young author from Boston. She has been writing poetry since the age of eight, and The Broken Park Bench is her first published collection.
Eliza chose the title of this collection when she wrote the poem--The Broken Park Bench--just before moving from Newton to Boston. Before moving, Eliza wrote poetry and drew inspiration from an actual broken bench, but now feels that the nature of drawing inspiration from an object which is traditionally 'broken' perfectly encompasses the theme of her entire collection.
Eliza does not write in a specific genre of poetry and hopes that each reader is able to appreciate the varying styles of writing and how they represent the message of each individual poem.
Most of Eliza's poems portray her love of the physical nature in Vermont or ekphrastic pieces inspired by paintings depicting nature scenes.
