I am a boomer, born and raised in a Midwest, blue collar family that experienced the tragedy of losing their first born in addition to the reoccurring nightmares of an embattled soldier from WWII. Both of these incidents were our own personal, family secrets held deep within the soul of my father until he finally decided to share his inner most feelings during the last two years of his life; a cleansing for him, a closure for me.
