This book tells the story of five "epic" trips taken between 1973 and 1990. The route from Table Rock to Mount Mitchell is a 50 mile hike through the mountains of Western North Carolina that traverses the Linville Gorge, crosses the Linville River, and finishes on the summit of Mount Mitchell, the highest mountain in Eastern America.
