In June of 2009 a team of doctors, nurses, an EMT, and a pharmacist traveled to Peru to do volunteer medical service in Cajamarca.



Outside of work the group visited local sights such as Los Baños del Inca and Cumbe Mayo. During the second portion of the trip the group flew south to Cuzco to tour the sights in that area, including the Sacred Valley, the Maras Salt Mines, and of course Machu Picchu.



I was engaged as the official photographer for the trip to document the work these medical professionals did in the clinic and the fun they had experiencing the powerful combination of volunteerism and vacation.

"Usha usha!" is what you yell to a herd of animals to get them to get moving. It's also the name of a great little bar in Cajamarca where the owner, other musicians, and even patrons grab guitars and play until the wee hours. Don't sit on the drum if you can't handle the beat.
