Emma Thorpe is a writer known for her honest, thoughtful, tongue-twisting prose and poetry. Her characters are clever and fearless, and she tells it like it is. She lives in Santa Monica with her family. Dismantled Heart is her first collection of prose and poetry. Currently she is in the 6th grade.

Dismantled Heart was written in the Young Writers Institute, a creative writing program taught by Word Up Kids.

How many times have you said to yourself, "I have the ideas, but I can’t find the right words to express them? Or, “I know what I want to say, but I can’t organize it clearly?
