The galleries have over 7,000 square feet of space devoted to a diverse range of changing exhibitions in galleries devoted to the themes of architecture, music and sound, photography, local and regional artists and collections and children’s art. The Sheldon Art Galleries’ Hartenberger World Music Collection, a group of world musical instruments that span over 3,000 years of human history, is shown regularly in the Gallery of Music. In addition, a sculpture garden showcases both traditional and non-traditional sculpture and installation projects. The Sheldon Art Galleries operate much like a museum by organizing exhibitions with works borrowed from galleries, museums, and private collections. Free and open to the public, the galleries reach a wide and diverse audience of over 75,000 visitors year
