Team BTW's (short for Break The Wall) mission is to encourage girls to pursue their passion in STEM fields and to break the metaphorical wall that stops them. They have written a collection of short stories to inspire girls to never give up or be silenced about wanting to be a doctor, an astronaut, or even a salmon can labeler with aspirations of being a scientist. We hope our book, Break the Wall: 8 Stories About Girls Who Did Just That, will forever inspire young girls and women in their quest for STEM-related education and careers. They feel this book is necessary because 48% of the work force is women, but only 24% of them are in STEM fields. There are so many role models for girls to look up to in STEM, but in the workforce but they are undervalued. Girls aren't seeing these vital role models that could potentially impact their lives. They believe their book will inspire young girls by showing them that STEM is an option and that if they want to go into the STEM field, they can!
