Hello. "Ghastly Maytown" is the title of a Graphic novel that I am in the middle of bringing to life. My name is Dave Seyfried, Lancaster artist, filmmaker, and lead-singer of "You are the Research". I just thought of the title one afternoon when I saw the word "Ghastly" then near it "Maytown" written on the mens' room wall by some vandal in "Square One" Cafe.(145 n. Duke St. Lancaster, PA) Immediately into my mind came images of an exciting and humorous survival horror story that takes place in the tiny town of "Maytown". Since posting the rough draft of page 1 in one of my art shows a group of 10 kids from Maytown saw and were delighted to learn of my comic. Thanks to them for there great "inside info" they gave me.

I've been drawing since I could hold a pen, and was blessed to have been born to parents whom were able to see the value in that. I was trained in art growing up at both the Baum School of Art in Allentown,Pa and Barnstone Studios in Coplay,Pa (a much heralded institution though small) I've been in love with comics and that style of story telling my whole life. In 1197 I was hit by a moving van and lost the use of my dominant hand (I was in a coma for 2 weeks and had to relearn to walk and speak properly as well) I am glad to that years later I can now draw just as well with my opposite hand and can do pieces as simple as the style of "Ghastly Maytown" and as complex as photo-realism. I'm glad to "be back" I live in Lancaster,PA where I love to create art and music with my friends. If you come here please go to "Square One Cafe" (145 n. Duke St.) I'll probably be there!
