Once I had produced the red cover version of Memoir (London, 2010-2013), I felt that my written voice was not visible enough because it was immersed in all the imagery of my photographs. Then, I decided to erase the images and produce a new book (this one) only with words. The new book impacted me profoundly because I ‘saw my voice’ clearer. In this writing-making process, when the image is gone, ‘voice’ appears. This black cover version of Memoir (London, 2010-2013) was created to be read together with the red cover version of the artist's book.
