The past foreshadows the future ...
Cassandra Stevens has had a rough run the past few years. Her stepfather has been abusing her, forcing her to hide in the library after school, until one day when Cassandra's anything-but-ordinary life for an almost-twelve-year-old girl becomes even less ordinary. She finds herself trapped in a world (called the Kingdom of Curses) with two boys, Braxton and Jonathan, and finds herself faced with danger she never could anticipate. As time wears on, Cassandra must come to face the fact that she, and those involved with her, may not even make it back home alive, much less see the portal.
