Amazing. Overwhelming. Incredible. That is India. An experience that astonishes the senses with colors and textures, aromas and flavors, sounds and sensations. Vibrant. Energetic. Dazzling. Heartrending. Mystifying.

Reflecting on our journey, what stands out over the varied terrain and natural beauty of India’s landscapes and the incomparable artistry of fairy tale forts, palaces, and temples, are the people: brilliantly arrayed women with ready smiles, laughing children with inquisitive kohl-rimmed eyes, proud turbaned men. We were welcomed, gifted with flowers, fruit, and perfume, served tea and biscuits, samosas and lassis. People beckoned, as curious about us as we were about them, eager to be photographed and to photograph us, delighted to find a common language of images, gestures, laughter, and to share, however briefly, something of their lives.


Volume II includes images from Bharatpur, Jaipur, Deogarh, Kumbhalgarh, Rajsamand, and Udaipur.
