Aziza is a native of Washington, DC, currently living and working in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She completed her MFA with a concentration in photography, at the University of New Mexico, as well as a fellowship in Pictorial Archiving at the Center for Southwest Research in the spring of 2015. Several works from her thesis show, Tinstagrams, are on view at the Bernalillo Metropolitan Courthouse in downtown Albuquerque until January 2017. Currently Aziza is working in the art department for a new NBC show called "Midnight Texas" at Albuquerque Studios, and continuing work she began as an artist-in-residence at Playa in Summer Lake, Oregon. Thematically, Aziza is interested in place and displacement, race, beauty, and the nostalgia of materials.
