“Aphrodites Anadyomenes”, “Venuses Rising from the Sea”, are a series of diachronic shots taken in various parts of Crete and especially on the east side of the island, my birthplace.
The airy female forms, naked and ethereal, released from taboos and the bonds of daily routine, become one with the landscape. They flirt with the nymphs, the mermaids and Poseidon, teasing the natural elements. They seem to want to transform themselves into living images of a secret fantasy. To return to the primordial source of life, exorcising the nightmarish loneliness and silence, giving a touch of hope and shedding light, more light on our dim everyday life.
The revelation of the naked body in front of the true canvas of nature moves and enthralls me. Perhaps because it reveals the soul to my eyes, bright and unaffected, free of taboos and hypocrisy. -----------------------------

Οι “Αναδυόμενες Αφροδίτες” είναι μια σειρά από διαχρονικές λήψεις σε διάφορες περιοχές της Κρήτης και ιδιαίτερα της ανατολικής πλευράς που είναι και ο τόπος καταγωγής μου.
Οι αέρινες φιγούρες των γυναικείων σωμάτων, γυμνές και αιθέριες, απελευθερωμένες από τα ταμπού και τα δεσμά της καθημερινότητας γίνονται ένα με το περιβάλλον. Φλερτάρουν με τις νύμφες, τις νεράιδες και τον Ποσειδώνα, προκαλώντας τα στοιχεία της φύσης. Μοιάζουν να θέλουν να μεταμορφωθούν σε ζωντανές εικόνες κρυμμένης φαντασίωσης. Να επιστρέψουν στην αρχέγονη πηγή της ζωής εξορκίζοντας την εφιαλτική μοναξιά και τη σιωπή, δίδοντας μια αισιόδοξη πινελιά και φως, περισσότερο φως στη θολή μας καθημερινότητα.
