Where We Wandered takes the reader through some of the earliest surviving houses of historic Brooklyn Heights, celebrating the little glimpses of the first buildings in America’s first suburb. Through the lens of the unnamed “We,” these collective voices share snippets of their lives inside these homes as a brand new neighborhood is born around them. Researched, photographed, designed, and written by a former tour guide, this imagined look is built with historical bones, and strives to inspire an excitement for history and the hidden, near-forgotten places that may be right next door.
