Being the new girl isn't always easy, but four complete strangers who seem all to familiar, seem to help the transition for Avalon. Moving to a private boarding school for her senior year, the anonymous faces around her feel more like old enemies.

Her roommate, pretty and popular Arwen, has issues remaining monogamous. Being a hit with the male population of the high school, sees them falling into a love game. But when things go wrong can she be trusted?

On the other end of the scale is scholarship student Halle. She has no friends, is frequently bullied and is intimidated by the most powerful girls in school to complete their assignments. She appears to have no backbone, but surely even she has a breaking point.

Dakota is on the same end of the social ladder but for very different reasons. Two years ago a switch flipped and Dakota gave up hamburgers for tofu. She seems innocent, the savior of the environment, but is there something she's keeping secret?

Finally, Alix, the mortal enemy of Dakota. The two have opposing views in terms of the environment which sees them at logger heads. Alix wears fur, eats meat, and has her own collection of knives- making Dakota feel very nervous as she fears that Alix might not be as harmless as she seems.
