Wandelend door de schitterende stad Porto lopen we steeds weer langs verlaten telefooncellen.
Zouden ze al met pensioen zijn? Gedachten komen bij me op over de laatste telefooncel in Buurmalsen waar de bevolking destijds protesteerde omdat deze zou verdwijnen.

Verlaten cellen waar mensen, auto’s en scooters langs razen. Na een week wandelen hebben we alleen een servicemonteur, een man die hoopte wat geld uit het bakje te kunnen halen en een schoonmaakster bij de cellen gezien.
Hoogtepunt is het nieuwe vliegveld van Porto, daar staan anno 2013 nog steeds verschillende cellen op een rijtje, een gewone telefoonpaal, een invalidentelefoon en een derde versie die mobiel is.
Ook hier niemand bij deze net geboren telefooncellen.
Ontroerd door de telefooncel verlaten wij Porto.
