Antonio De Rosa (Naples 1958) graduated in piano performance at the Music Academy of Naples, with the hignest grade. He did his postgraduate studies with the renowned Polish piano player specialized in the Chopin repertoire Marian Mika. Antonio, as a “maestro collaboratore” helped Mr Mika in organizing the Interantional piano courses. As a soloist Antonio has played for the most important Italian music and cultural asssociations. He has recently performed in the Haldane Room of Wolfson College Oxford. A versatile artist, Antonio also enjoys a colorful career as a painter and sculptor. As a painter since 1998 Antonio has increased his interest in watercolors which has led him to his meeting with Pedro Cano. As a sculptor Antonio has created his “hanging grand -pianos”. These “silent” musical instruments represent the constant dichotomy between weight and lightness, playfulness and drama, an attempt for Antonio to control all means of self- expression.
