Acerca del libro
Rephotography is the act of finding locations from which historical photographs have been taken and then making new photographs from exactly the same vantage points. In recent years it has grown to include a variety of styles and techniques to illustrate change or a lack-there-of within environments. Rephotography's place in photographic history owes much to the activities of Mark Klett and Byron Wolfe, who have inspired countless others to embrace history and compare it with the present. In May of 2013, Mark Klett kindly visited Izmir in Turkey to conduct a rephotography workshop with students of Izmir University of Economics. This brief (but intense) workshop culminated in an exhibition and a series of photographs that are presented here.
