Humorous book of irreverent chemo fairies that help the chemo patient through chemotherapy. Each fairy has a job description in Barbie's Battalion of fairies and that job description is relevant to supporting the patient's effort to fight cancer cells. the book was originally created by the author to help his sister through her chemotherapy and has been a favorite of anyone who has seen it. It was designed to be used by friends who want to send a message of love and encouragement, so each fairy can be sponsored by a well wisher with a hand-written message.

I freelanced artwork and graphic design for 15 years before joining the art faculty of Arkansas' Henderson State University in 1991. I work in a variety of media, including pen and ink, oil, watercolor, and pastel. I taught pen-and-ink workshops for Rapidograph and still have a particular fondness for drawing in any medium. I published The Technical Pen, Techniques for Artists with Watson Guptill in 1992. The Fairies book grew out of my dedication and love for my sister, Barbie who has fought cancer for twenty years. The fairies were created to help her through chemotherapy when she needed to laugh and to have something to look forward to when she went to the mailbox. At the conclusion of her therapy I promised her a book, which I hope will be shared with others who face this awful disease.
