Ffos-Y-Fran open cast mine sits in the hills of Merthyr Tydfil.Over 3 miles wide and 200m deep it is one of the largest in South Wales Uk. The book documents the area ,but also documents the land of Nant Llesg ,300 acres of beautiful land adjecent to the mine to which MIller Argent will start development on this year.All wildlife will be gone, peoples lives will be effected with the new mine in the Rhymney valley .The land will be excaveted for coal over the next 17 years so i wanted to document the area before it is gone forever.
