This touching story is a peek into the life of a young man and his family. He was raised in Italy, left his home and family to move to New York and then served in the Second World War.

Although much of the book is based on the war years, it is really about people and the interactions between them.

Since it was penned by Vito himself, we have left the language as he wrote it.
