Drawing for me is my passion, and I always dreamed of going on an epic adventure where I can document life in drawings. Photos may be easier and quicker, but, drawing is much more personal.
What makes me different from most other expatriates is that I allowed myself to be transformed by this environment. I've eaten things that I once never thought I would eat, such as dogs, frogs and even snakes. I even learnt to live financially as an ordinary Chinese would. I lived in humble conditions in freezing winters. I've sacrificed a lot for this book, living far from my family, not watching nephews and nieces grow up.
Overall, this book and this adventure filled a gap that I once was yearning for, to do something with my drawing abilities.
