Acerca del libro
In 2010, breast cancer dragged me from UN work in a remote border location in Burma to surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. I began treatment Bangkok, during a time of historic political upheaval, and continued in San Francisco, following my emotional departure from seventeen years in Southeast Asia. The book is an accounting—in rhyme and photos, with highs and lows—of those months, weaving together reflections on my life and friends in Asia, work, family, and return to health.

Acerca del creador
My career working in Southeast Asia has ended, and I now wait for the next chapter of my life to unfold. In the meantime, I write, inspired by stories for my grandchildren, weird things I have seen, and--most recently--cancer.
