When I see something that grabs me, I want to grab it back. I have carried a camera and sketchbook with me at all times since my adolescence, just in case. Dena Schutzer teaches painting and drawing at a high school in NYC and is a painter who is a member of the Bowery Gallery. She has published six children’s book as an illustrator, and been an editorial illustrator for magazines and newspapers. Before this she worked in documentary photography and film, and had a brief stint in the Yiddish Theatre as an usher and chorus girl.
