This is the second book in the "Letters Home" series, and continues the style of travel photo essay that I started with the "Eight Letters from India" book. In 2010 my wife and I spent a month traveling by car from one end of Morocco to the other, from the bustle of hectic cities in the north to the solitude of the Sahara desert in the south. As I discovered when I first tried to capture my experiences in India, nothing is as powerful a combination as both words and images to convey a sense of place. Words need images to show what is truly there, but images need words to give them back the context that the frame of the camera strips away. I hope that through the combination of the two you will enjoy a journey through the amazing country that is Morocco.

Cambridge, MA

David King has been taking pictures since his father taught him the difference between shutter speed and f-stop when he was a child. He has been writing fiction and non-fiction since his mother taught him his first big word: “articulate,” at age 6. Moving to Boston for university, he studied electrical engineering & photography at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Wellesley College and the New England School of Photography. After working many years as an engineer, David moved into a VW camper in 2003 and spent four years living nomadically, traveling throughout the United States and overseas.
