The social issues of globalisation refer to its impact on the life and work of people, their families, and on their home life. These concerns gave me the idea to explore and photograph portraits of market traders in different markets in Calderdale.

The project on market traders started with research on different local markets in my area. I highlighted Piece Hall, Hebden Bridge and Todmordon markets for my project as these have a long history of providing goods to the public.

My final chosen body of work reflects the character of each individual market trader I photographed at each market in Calderdale. My images attempt to show how resilient people can be in hard times in keeping their businesses running in the local markets of Calderdale. These images also attempt to document our market traders in Halifax Piece Hall, Hebden Bridge and Todmordon in West Yorkshire before they vanish, demonstrating the colour, tradition and variety of the market day in our community

My latest project is on the environment photographing at Drax Power Station in Selby. I have gained access to, and will be having 2 visits to Drax covering Coal, Biomass, Controller Room, Operations, Visitor Center, and the Cooling Towers.
