The politics and warfare of our times are about to become minor features in our future compared to big changes coming due to changing climate. And nobody wants to take this seriously. But this is what I want you to be prepared for, not to become a soldier, but to become a survivor. We have watched tsunamis take out coastlines in India, Thailand and Japan. We are having more earthquakes around the world than ever before. Records are being broken for coldest winters, hottest summers, wettest, driest everywhere. We keep turning a blind eye. Ice caps are melting. Glaciers are disappearing. Tidewaters rising. But it doesn't affect us. We can still drive on down to our supermarket and get our fruit and vegetables and coffee. All the things we need and want are still being sold. All the flowers are growing and the birds are singing. But not for much longer!
