Acerca del libro
I am greatly inspired by the geometry I find in my surroundings, I find myself constructing my photographs with clean lines and simple shapes. In this work specifically, the shapes that the sky makes between buildings and rooftops are what has intrigued me. In most cases, the sky serves as the negative space in an image. However, my work has inverted this principle so that the traditional positive space of the architecture serves to frame to the shapes the sky makes. Instead of being the main focus in my photographs, I use the buildings in the foreground as a level of familiarity or reference point in my photographs. This familiarity is important in allowing the viewer to draw parallels in their own realities and possibly take a second look to see something they might not have noticed before.
