Macon - is called the "Song and soul of the South." Once the gem of the new south, it was a bright, happy song, full of life and hope.



The city I found now, was not at all what I had imagined. The song it sings now is like a melancholy lullaby for a city about to slumber. Though it has lost the glamorous sheen of the glory days - there still is something uniquely beautiful there.



Withering away at the city, the toll of time has not taken away from this place and the unchangeable intrinsic beauty of the brick and marble, which can never be undone. The toll of time has added another kind of beauty, a unique and under appreciated form of beauty. Just as the beauty of youth may fade, it is replaced with by the beauty of wisdom and experience. None can quantify the better beauty, but all can appreciate it.
