Acerca del libro
There is no innocence in space. For
the architect, space may be didactically
subjective, and therefore evocatively
representative rather than experiential.
Space however, is also political, answering
to strategies of the dominant
modes of production. Consequently,
space is embodied with objective
meaning[2]. Everyday life embodies at
the same time, the most intense experiences
of oppression, and the strongest
potentialities for transformation. It is
the blind spot in the architect’s creative
vision, because it lacks the brilliance
and innovation proclaimed loudly
through the mouthpiece of Modernity.
In recognizing the here and now, one is
obliged to recognize the contradiction
intrinsic to its very nature.
