On the first of December in 2010 I set out for East Africa to explore the unknown with a close friend, Lindsay Matush. I brought very little with me; just a backpack, a positive attitude, and a willingness to allow myself to be venerable. The sights I saw, the places I visited, and the people I got to know during the two weeks I spent in Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya, are things I will never forget. My mind and heart have grown and changed in ways I may never be able to explain. And they will never be the same...
