Acerca del libro
I don't know about you, but my bedroom is the place I feel safest. A place I can come home to at the end of the day and just kick off my shoes and relax. After living a pretty lush life at home in Clarksville, Maryland I couldn't help but be sad to leave my room at home. So many memories, good times, bad times, sick times, and well times. I didn't want to leave my pink and black Burberry duvet and my pink and gray striped walls to come to a cooped-up, white-walled dorm room at RIT in Rochester, New York. After moving to Rochester, I slowly realized you do find comfort wherever you can. Even if the nerds that live in the same hall are up yelling at their video games until four in the morning, something about your bed is always comfortable.
These experiences are what got me to the idea for this body of work. I wanted to see how my fellow classmates at RIT found comfort through their beds and bedrooms away from home. I found that everyone's idea of "comfort" is so drastically different. For instance, I like to sleep next to a wall with a little bit of clutter around me, where as some people like to sleep in a bed centered in their room with completely blank walls and nothing on the floor. Given that RIT doesn't relly give you too much space to work with bedroom arrangements, everyone's room was still so different.
Enjoy,
Brennah
