Buzkashi, (translation: goat-pulling) the National Sport of Afganistan, is a traditional team sport played on horseback in Afghanistan, and historically has been played in all parts of Central Asia for hundreds of years. The history of the steppes' people tells of their skilled riders who, while riding a horse at full gallop, could pick up a calf or goat from the ground. These are the same men who rode with Genghis Khan.
