Acerca del libro
Somewhere Familiar is a collection of street photographs made in Tajikistan. Having grown up in Iran speaking Persian, Azin Faghihi arrived in a country she had never visited, yet whose language felt familiar.
Through everyday encounters—children playing, people at work, quiet moments between movements—the photographs trace a feeling of recognition and discovery, and the small connections that can make an unfamiliar place feel closer.

Acerca del creador
Azin Faghihi
Washington, DC, USA
I’m a Washington, DC–based, self-taught photographer drawn to people and everyday life. I’m interested in how people interact, move through public spaces, and reveal themselves in ordinary moments. My work focuses primarily on color street photography, looking for connection, gesture, humor, and the unexpected in daily life.
