Dear Black King, You Are Needed is a powerful, affirming, and purpose-driven book created to speak directly to the hearts and minds of young Black boys. Designed especially for boys in grades 3rd through 8th, this 36-page book reminds every young king that he is seen, loved, gifted, valuable, and necessary.

Through bold messages, uplifting affirmations, engaging reflection prompts, and empowering visuals, this book challenges young Black boys to recognize their worth, embrace their identity, believe in their dreams, and step confidently into their rightful place in the world.

From the opening pages, readers are reminded that they are not invisible, not forgotten, not a mistake, and not defined by negative labels or limited expectations. Instead, they are full of purpose, creativity, intelligence, courage, leadership, and greatness. Each section builds a strong foundation of self-worth, resilience, confidence, and responsibility.

Young readers are encouraged to stand tall when life gets hard, dream big beyond their surroundings, lead strong with kindness and character, use their words wisely, protect their minds, honor their legacy, and rise above mistakes and setbacks. The book also highlights the importance of brotherhood, education, positive self-talk, community, and leadership.

The final journal section gives young kings space to write their thoughts, name their gifts, dream about their future, create a leadership blueprint, write personal affirmations, and make a promise to themselves. This interactive portion allows the message to move from inspiration to action.

Dear Black King, You Are Needed is more than a children’s book. It is a tool for families, educators, mentors, youth leaders, churches, schools, barbershops, and community organizations that are committed to encouraging and empowering young Black boys.
