Acerca del libro
Sonja Schulmann Schwartz was only a child when Nazi persecution transformed her life. Shunned at school, terrorized in the streets and devastated by her mother’s death after she was denied medical care, Sonja was sent to a Jewish orphanage and separated from her father, who was imprisoned at Dachau. Through courage, determination and a remarkable twist of fate, father and daughter were reunited and escaped Germany just weeks before World War II began. In America, Sonja built a family and found her voice, sharing her story hundreds of times so future generations would remember—and help ensure such hatred never happens again.
