Acerca del libro
ALREADY BUT NOT YET
“ALREADY BUT NOT YET” is a Christian expression used to describe the nature of the Kingdom of God. It is not only something that belongs to the world after death, nor is it fully realized in the present age.The two are not entirely separate. They exist together already present, yet still incomplete.I find this idea equally fitting when thinking about the experience of a first-generation immigrant.
Canada has welcomed me. It has given me a place here and accepted me as a Canadian. Yet becoming Canadian, in a cultural sense, is still an ongoing process. There is always more to learn, to understand, and to experience.
This book looks back on my first few years in Canada the people I encountered, the places I lived in, the ordinary moments of everyday life, and my own process of finding a sense of belonging in a new country. They are fragments of a process of becoming of looking at where I came from, where I am, and where I might be going.
God is light. I followed the light, and it brought me to Canada. From Politiká, Hudson Bay Company 1670 - 2025, and Have a Good Trip, to Reborn — a process that is still unfolding right now.
I AM ALREADY HERE.
I AM ALREADY CANADIAN.
I AM STILL LEARNING WHAT IT MEANS TO BECOME CANADIAN.
I AM NOT CANADIAN. NOT YET
ALREADY, BUT NOT YET.
