Acerca del libro
Flux
Πάντα ῥεῖ — everything flows.
The ancient Greek philosophers understood what photographers spend lifetimes chasing — that nothing holds still, that the visible world is in constant, quiet motion, that to see clearly is to accept impermanence.
In the thirty days that separate spring's arrival from its settling, Seattle exists in a state of perpetual becoming — clouds that cannot decide, streets that hold the night long after morning arrives, shadows that move across concrete and brick like something alive.
Flux is a meditation on that threshold. One hundred pages of black and white photographs made in and around Seattle during a single month, in a single season, in a city that is always, quietly, transforming. These are not documents. They are impressions — of light caught against weathered facades, of stillness inside motion, of the way a street corner can hold an entire emotional world in the space between one second and the next.
Shot with an intimacy that collapses the distance between observer and observed, Flux embraces the full range of tonal extremes — from blown highlights to crushed, uncompromising blacks — finding beauty not in clarity, but in contrast. In what is revealed. In what is withheld.
Πάντα ῥεῖ. Everything flows. Even light. Even shadow. Even this.
