Janet is an eighteen-year-old girl who lives in Rochester, Minnesota with her family in 1941. Her life was normal until her brother, Denny, went to Pearl Harbor so he could fight in the war, but the day it was bombed on December 7, 1941, her life was flipped upside down. Denny was badly injured, and they did not know if he was going to make it. Her family was heartbroken. Later that night on December tenth, 1941, she heard something on the radio in her room, about the French resistance. She decided that she wanted to help in France. Janet made it to France a couple of months later and joined the resistance. When she was helping, she ended up meeting the man that would be her husband one day. Her family would be back together in Minnesota, and she would receive the ending she’d hoped for.
