This project started in my drawing class. We spent a lot of time studying light and texture, but we weren’t allowed to use color. That limitation made me realize how much I depend on color to see and to feel. When I started photographing, I wanted to bring color back — not just as decoration, but as something alive, something that shifts and deepens with light.
I photograph glass, fabric, brick, and other textured materials because they react to light in unexpected ways. The surfaces I choose aren’t perfect — they reflect, distort, and hold color differently depending on how you look at them. I’m drawn to that unpredictability. Through these images, I’m exploring how color and texture can turn something ordinary into something almost luminous.
My hope is that when people look at these photos, they feel a sense of satisfaction — like they’ve paused for a moment to really see. I want the experience to feel like peering through a magnifying glass into my world, where light and color are always shifting, always alive.
